On NFT.io, actions such as creating a collection, creating tokens, and purchasing tokens require payment in ENJ tokens, the native token of the Enjin Blockchain.
If you want to engage in these actions, you must ensure that your Enjin Wallet is funded with sufficient ENJ native tokens.
What is the difference between ERC-20 ENJ and native ENJ?
There are two versions of the ENJ token available on different blockchains:
- Ethereum ENJ - Commonly referred to as ERC-20 ENJ since it's an ERC-20 token on the Ethereum blockchain.
- Enjin Blockchain ENJ - This is often referred to as native/mainnet ENJ, as it is the native token of the Enjin Blockchain.
Currently, only the native Enjin Blockchain ENJ is supported by NFT.io.
Before delving into the detailed steps on how to purchase native ENJ tokens, it's worth mentioning that you can also swap your other tokens into native ENJ tokens. This flexibility allows you to make use of your existing assets and seamlessly participate in the NFT.io ecosystem. The article In-wallet Token Exchange can help you with that.
How to fund your Enjin Wallet with native ENJ tokens?
- Ensure that the Enjin Matrixchain and Relaychain are added to your Enjin Wallet. If these chains aren't included in your wallet, kindly refer to this guide: Adding the Enjin Matrixchain Blockchain.
- Check your preferred cryptocurrency exchange. When purchasing ENJ tokens to transfer to your Enjin Wallet, make sure to buy the native ENJ instead of ERC-20 ENJ. It's also crucial to know which chain the cryptocurrency exchange supports. Some exchanges only support Enjin Relaychain deposits, while others may support both Enjin Relaychain and Matrixchain deposits. Sending tokens from Relaychain to Matrixchain address or vice versa could result in the permanent loss of your funds. To determine which chain the exchange supports, check the deposit address provided by the exchange.
Note:
Enjin Matrixchain wallet addresses start with "ef".
Enjin Relaychain wallet addresses start with "en".
- Buy native ENJ tokens and send it to the corresponding chain where the token is currently in. In simpler terms, send the token to the Matrixchain address of your Enjin Wallet if the tokens are in the Matrixchain address of the cryptocurrency exchange. Otherwise, send the token to the Relaychain address of your Enjin Wallet.
You can locate and copy your wallet address by tapping on the corresponding chain. In case you are unsure how to find and copy your wallet address, please follow this guide: Finding your Enjin Matrixchain wallet address
- NFT.io uses native ENJ tokens in Matrixchain. If your native ENJ tokens are in your Relaychain address, you would need to teleport your native ENJ tokens from the Relaychain to the Matrixchain. This guide will show you how: How to teleport ENJ tokens from Enjin Relaychain to Enjin Matrixchain
Congratulations! You now have the tokens you need for your NFT.io profile. It's time to immerse yourself in the vibrant community of creators and collectors on NFT.io.
