What is a Snap?

A Snap is an application that adds features and extends functionality to MetaMask beyond Ethereum. It acts as an extra app or tool you can add to your MetaMask wallet to give it new abilities. For instance, it can help MetaMask work with blockchains it doesn’t normally support, add new features, or improve how you use your wallet. In this case, the Enjin Snap is created for MetaMask users and be able to interact with the Enjin Blockchain seamlessly.

Setting Up the Enjin Snap

There are two easy ways to initially setup the Enjin Snap on your device.

1. Connect/Sign-in through available dApps - The Enjin Snap will allow users to interact within NFT.io, Enjin Platform, and Enjin Console as they connect or sign in using the MetaMask option.

2. Install from MetaMask store - The Enjin Snap is available on Metamask store snaps.metamask.io and can be downloaded on your web browser.

Using the Enjin Snap

The Enjin Snap caters to all Enjin Blockchain networks:

Enjin Mainnet - Enjin Relaychain and Enjin Matrixchain

Enjin Testnet - Canary Relaychain and Canary Matrixchain

Users will be able to do the following:

• View Enjin Blockchain addresses
• View Enjin Blockchain balances
• Sign Enjin Blockchain transactions
• Send Enjin Blockchain tokens (redirection to Enjin Console)

ℹ️ Your Enjin Snap account is derived directly from your MetaMask seed phrase. This means that if you ever lose access to your wallet, you can recover your Enjin Snap account by importing the MetaMask account that was used to create it.

For those interested in the technical process, here’s how your Enjin Snap account is created:

• The Snap generates an Ethereum private key derived from your MetaMask seed phrase using the derivation path m/44'/1155'/0'/0'/0.
• From this Ethereum private key, the Snap creates an ed25519 account.

If you’re a power user and want to import your Enjin Snap account to your Enjin Wallet or another wallet application, you can use this information to derive the associated keys.

🔒 Important: Always back up your recovery phrase securely. Your phrase is the key to recovering your wallet and all accounts derived from it, including your Enjin Snap account. Without it, you risk losing access to your assets permanently.
