In the Enjin Blockchain ecosystem, token creators can configure the transferability of their tokens in four distinct ways. This determines whether a token can be sent to another wallet and whether its transferability status can change over time.
On Enjin Wallet and NFT.io marketplace, these transferability states are visually represented as follows:
- Yes – Transferable
- Yes 🔒 – Permanently transferable
- No – Currently non-transferable (also known as "Frozen")
- No 🔒 – Permanently non-transferable (also known as "Soul Bound")
Tokens with a Snowflake icon ❄️ next to them are also non-transferable.
Below is a detailed explanation of each transferability state:
Yes – Transferable
A token with this transferability state is currently transferable but can be frozen by the collection owner. This provides flexibility while allowing creators to restrict transfers when necessary.
Yes 🔒 – Permanently transferable
This token is always transferable and can never be frozen. It ensures that once issued, the token remains permanently transferable, making it ideal for items where holders should have true ownership, free from any future transfer restrictions.
No – Currently non-transferable
A token in this state is currently non-transferable but may become transferable again if unfrozen by the collection owner. This allows temporary restrictions on transfers, offering control over when tokens can be moved between wallets.
No 🔒 – Permanently non-transferable
This token is permanently non-transferable and can never be sent to another wallet. Once minted, it remains bound to the original owner indefinitely, making it suitable for items that should never be sold or change hands.
